When I saw this holiday on one of those Web sites that tells you what people are celebrating on which day, I thought, “How fun!” So I wrote up a little blurb about it for Women of Faith’s Faith to Faith e-newsletter, included it in our employee newsletter, and challenged everyone to celebrate as they saw fit.
And they did!
Not everyone, of course, but a significant number dreamed up a holiday and a way to observe it. I’m so proud. My own personal celebration is “If I Ruled the World We’d All Take Naps & Have Milk & Cookies Day” so I’m wearing a borrowed crown—yes, I am the kind of person who knows people with crowns lying about for the borrowing—I brought my pillow, and, of course, milk and Oreos. I’d have done more but it’s a concert week, so all my free time is spent with Carmina Burana.

Other holidays we’re observing at the WoFfice are:
Live Your Dreams (Literally) Day (Laura dreams about flying)

Warm Fuzzy Day (Kim handed out personalized warm fuzzy remarks with these)

Flip Flop Day (better them than me, it’s chilly outside!)

Other celebrations included: Thank a Coworker Day (Sally passed out both written thank-you cards and blank ones so we could keep the momentum going), Hug a Friend Day, Make Up a New Word Day (an off-site entry), Nap at Your Desk Day, and the Product Department each chose a location for “I’d rather be in …. Day”
which leads me to my favorite pic du jour:

I’d Rather be in the Hamptons Day. Great job, Richard!
Anyone else playing along? It’s not too late. Next year I hope to go company-wide. Then nationwide. Then…when I rule the world…

That last picture is amazing!
) Sounds like you all had fun.
That is such a neat idea! I’m going to bring it up at work.
