After spending much of the summer battling sinus infections and bronchitis, I’m now a pink, puffy mess due to an apparent spider bite. I’m also itchy. Very, very itchy. (Oh, sorry, did I make you scratch? My bad!) This is one of the things they don’t warn you about when you ask to sit on the restaurant patio.
My doctor assures me that no matter what dread disease the lab results will say I’ve picked up, she has medication to fix it. I sure hope so. She’s a trustworthy woman, so I expect she’s right.
This all began not long after my birthday, which makes me wonder if my warranty has expired since parts of me seem to be falling apart. Fortunately, I have a direct line to the manufacturer and I’ve been assured that my model is not yet obsolete.
“So we do not give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16
I was told that after 40, it’s “just a patch up job”. Feel better soon.
Ugh!!! I hate spiders! I have had a couple of bites and they were really itchy. Please be better soon. BTW– that 2 Cor. quote is lovely.
Amen on that last part.
This made me laugh:
“This all began not long after my birthday, which makes me wonder if my warranty has expired since parts of me seem to be falling apart. Fortunately, I have a direct line to the manufacturer and I’ve been assured that my model is not yet obsolete.”
A church member once joked, “I am deteriorating right on time.”
This happened to me quite a few years ago, it turned all my veins black in the area where it happned, Plus it itched like crazy, it took quite a while for the veins to get back to normal. I hope you get better soon,
I have to say I have missed reading your blog. I hope you are just so busy, no time to blog.
I’m so sorry about the spider bite. UGH! I’ve been a BAD blog follower for a few months here, and I missed this big news. I’m a anti-spider girl, and so I cringed to hear of this. Did everything turn out all right?
You know what, it turned out to be poison ivy. I don’t know if the spider was a carrier or if it wasn’t actually a bite at all, but it was nasty nonetheless. I swelled up big-time and had to visit my friendly neighborhood Emergency Room. They gave me enough drugs to fix me, but months later I’m still getting bills. Yeeha.
