Due to the ruling party’s policy, a young displaced couple was living in substandard conditions when she gave birth. Had they stayed in that situation, the child would have died. Thankfully, sponsors from a foreign land provided support, making a way for the little family to move to a neighboring country where they stayed until it was safe to return home. (You can read the whole story in Matthew 1-2.)
Like the magi of old, wise people still help children in need. Only now they don’t need to make a long, arduous journey following a star—they can help through organizations like World Vision. The food, medical care, and support World Vision provides is as welcome today to sponsored children and their families as that gold, frankincense, and myrrh were to Mary and Joseph 2,000 years ago.
In this gift-giving season, consider giving the gift of a better, safer life to a child. Learn more about World Vision sponsorship here.
