If this post makes little sense, that could be due to the fact that I got up at 3 am this morning. Yes, on purpose. You see, today I start my long-awaited, much anticipated vacation to Boston & Cape Cod.
SAFETY FIRST: If you happen to be thinking, “Hmmm, she’s not home so maybe I should go to her place and help myself to her treasures” there are 3 things you should know:
1. My home is currently occupied
2. Said occupant is proficient in the use of firearms
3. My treasures are all laid up in heaven anyway, there’s not really anything worth the trouble.
This concludes this test of the Emergency Broadcast System. This was only a test.
Now where was I? Oh yes, dragging my sleepy behind to the airport with my travel buddies, Vikki & Rosemary. It helped that Vikki packed us each a lovely breakfast snack pack:
which made for a lovely in-flight snack.
And yes, of course I took my AdvoCare vitamin packs (MNSMAXE for energy, see me if you’d like to order some). Considering our dining plans for this trip, I need all the nutrition I can get.
Speaking of which, our pilot was from Texas and therefore drove fast, so we arrived too early to check in. But we’re staying in the Italian part of Boston so we followed our noses to this place:
ordered all the lunch specials (not as bad as it sounds; there were only 3 & there were 3 of us…)
After achieving our tiny little apartment, whose most notable feature is the stairs…
We stopped by the Old North Church to sing a hymn…
And saw these lovely angels by the organ. The nice young man in charge told us they were French angels stolen by a pirate who was also a church member and, apparently, believed in tithing. The church decided to look on them as trophies rather than statues, as the latter would be too Catholic.
Finally, we went back for Vikki & pondered dinner. What to do, what to do…when suddenly we realized where we were! And off we went for clam chowdah. And, since it was on special, steamer clams & mussels, too.
