It’s been a long, hot summer. My brain is melting. I’ve been sick. And tired. And I’m getting sick and tired of feeling that way. It’s time for a new perspective.
So last night I dreamed up The $10 Challenge. (And I mean that literally, I woke up at 3:30 am with this idea.) Here’s the scoop:
$10 Challenge Official Rules
1. Find Something.
You can shop at a garage sale, flea market, random store, under your couch, on the shelf of your mom’s closet . . . as long as you have permission to use the chosen object (don’t go “adopting” things you shouldn’t, now) it’s fair game.
2. Make something Cool With It.
Reuse, redecorate, repurpose. Bedazzle, build, bewilder. Look at your “something” and think “What if . . .” then make it happen. You are limited only by your imagination—and the budget, which is…
3. Do Not Spend More Than $10 Total.
You may use items/materials you already have, but the budget for new supplies (including your something) is capped at $10 or less. Times are hard out there, people. Let’s keep our fun affordable.
4. Complete Your Item by September 6
That’s the Tuesday after Labor Day, so you’ll have the holiday weekend to be creative.
5. Tell Us About It In the Comments Below
Share your creation with the rest of us! If you want to post before/after pictures somewhere, please include a link.
You Could Win!
Once all the entries are in I’ll organize a little poll and we’ll vote on a winner. The winning entry will receive a $10 gift card to . . . a place to be named later. (Did I mention I was awake at 3:30 am? I’ll think about that part tomorrow, Scarlet.)
So there you have it! Let’s kick our brains out their everyday ruts and start looking at life through our “What if” glasses.
