This morning I listened to a news report on the radio about how the Syrian military is killing their own citizens. (They officially deny it, but the evidence seems pretty overwhelming.) More than 32 children under the age of 10 and 60 adults we massacred just yesterday, according to UN observers in the area.
Then I went to church, where we honored the U.S. military and their families—something that was also done at the two concerts I sang this weekend.
It just reminded me how very blessed I am to live in a country whose armed forces exist to protect us, not slaughter us.
That’s so easy to take for granted, isn’t it?
